Here are a few items gleaned from the minutes of the Feb. 19th Council Board meeting. If you are not a Council Board member you may not be aware of some of the news updates.
The December Dessert and Basket Auction cleared $1,470 which was distributed to six area food pantries. A gift card was sent to Kevin Lawler in appreciation for his auctioneering. All that work the churches did in assembling baskets, preparing desserts and then organizing will be appreciated.
The update on the Red Bird Mission Trip shows that fifteen have signed up with others showing an interest if some details can be worked out. I can tell you from personal experience it will put joy in your life and "Praise God" in your heart!
Did you know that we now have a new district superintendent? He is Senior Pastor Chris Heckaman from Sidney First UMC.
If you don't know him but the name sounds familiar - he is the pastor who took his sermon and prayer service into a local Sidney bar. Is that Radical Hospitality or what?
