The Miami Valley District UMM Executive Team is excited to announce a special opportunity to be a part of the "Wings of the Morning" ministry.
Gaston Ntambo, pilot for the ministry, will be at Faith Community UMC / Xenia for our next meeting of the Miami Valley District UMM on Tuesday, May 14, at 7 pm, to share his story.
We will gather with others from the Greene County Common Cup churches, Miami Valley District UMC's & WOC. Bring your spouse and family. A reception will follow.
A service of dedication and consecration will be held on May 15th at 1:45 PM at the Vectren airshow location at Dayton International airport. All are invited to this event as well.
About a year ago the extravagantly generous efforts of the West Ohio Conference raised over $ 1 Million for the purchase of a new plane to support medical and mission efforts in otherwise inaccessible areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. [ His original plane was both small and unsuited for its mission. In particular, the plane required the type of fuel that is not available at many locations in the Congo. The new plane cures all those problems. ]Together with The New Jersey Conference and others, about $ 2 1/4 Million have been raised. A plane has been purchased and is being refitted for use.
Gaston Ntambo will be present to talk about what God is doing in his life, the "Wings of the Morning" mission and the new airplane.
Faith Community UMC is located just off US Rte. 68 at 100 Country Club Dr., Xenia, www.fcum.org, 372-7601.
Following the presentation there will be a time for questions and a reception to talk more informally with Gaston.
Please try to get several men from your church to attend with you.
Blessings,
John W. Sherer, Past-President
