Churches Say Their Goodbyes To Pastor Santos

For Pastor Sandra Santos, next Sunday (June 28) will be last day in the pulpit at Union UMC and Jamestown UMC.
Pastor Sandy will be taking an interim assignment in the Columbus area for a few weeks and then she and her family will be moving to Brazil.
She will continue her ministry there along with her husband. Gerald.
The position at Union UMC will be filled by Derek Horton and he will start on July 17th. (Derek, by the way, is slightly related to Dawn Olson, Faith Community)
At Jamestown UMC, Ed Wilder, a well known retired pastor, will fill the pulpit the first Sunday of each month with lay persons bring the message in the other Sundays.
We say Best Wishes to the Santos' and welcome new faces to the Common Cup churches.

The Common Cup Mission trip is coming up soon. The group leaves on June 26 and will return on July 2.

Pastor Rick prepared a prayer guide for each day which also gives a little insight to their daily activity.  CLICK HERE for a copy.

Why not print out a copy and hold it close by as we go about our daily prayers.
It will give us a kindred feeling of being with the group as they go about their mission.

Homecoming At Spring Valley Church

Last Sunday was "Homecoming Sunday" at Spring Valley United Methodist church and a very special day.

With an elevated crowd of 177, there was a lot of back slapping, hugs and smiles!

Co-Pastor Sandi Maynard attended to the Praises and Prayers and recognized those who had come from afar.

Music was outstanding with the Mixed Quartet singing the old gospel number, On The Jericho Road.
Co-Pastor Gary Maynard delivered an inspiring homecoming message.

The service was concluded with the combined choir singing Mozart's Gloria

At the reception, the words still echoed:

Glorious is Thy name, Almighty Lord
Glorious is Thy name!
